Every JourneyHandled with Care
Specialist transport for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities. Familiar drivers, trained passenger assistants and a route your family can rely on every single morning.
A school run should be the easiest part of the day. From the first phone call to the moment your child walks through the school gates, our team is here to make the journey calm, safe and completely predictable.
About Us
Built Aroundthe Child,Not the Route
Care Cars provides specialist home to school transport for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities across London and the surrounding boroughs.
We know that for many of the families we work with, transport is not a small detail. A change of driver, an unfamiliar vehicle or an unexplained delay can undo an entire morning. So we plan our routes around the child, keep the same team on the same run, and tell you what is happening before you have to ask.
Our team is deliberately small. The person who plans your route is the person who answers your call, which means you get clear answers and quick decisions every time.
Safeguarding First
Every driver and passenger assistant works under an enhanced DBS check with children's barred list, safeguarding training and a clear reporting route to our designated lead.
The Same Familiar Faces
You are introduced to your driver and passenger assistant before the first journey, and we keep that team on your route wherever we possibly can.
Prepared for the Day
We read the care plan, agree the handover, plan for the road closures and build in the time. Nothing about the morning should come as a surprise.

Short Notice and Ad Hoc Journeys
Call us for respite placements, medical appointments, exclusions, early collections and the days the plan changes at nine in the morning.
Every Passenger Known by Name
Before the first journey we sit down with the details that matter: the seat, the route, the words that help, the things to avoid. Then we keep to it.
Where We Travel
London Wide,Planned Streetby Street
We operate across Greater London and into the neighbouring counties, covering mainstream schools, specialist provisions, independent settings and out of borough placements. Where a placement sits outside our usual area, tell us anyway. We would rather look at the route properly than turn a family away on a postcode.
How We Work
What You Can Expect from Us
Step 1
Tell Us About the Journey
Share the collection address, the school, the timings and anything we should know about your child. A short conversation is usually enough to start.
Step 2
We Plan and Price the Route
You receive a written route plan and a fixed price, along with the risk assessment and the staffing we are proposing for it.
Step 3
Meet the Team Before Day One
Your driver and passenger assistant are introduced to you and to your child ahead of the first journey, so nobody arrives as a stranger.
Step 4
We Keep You Informed
You are told when we set off, told if we are held up and told when your child has arrived, without ever needing to chase us for it.

Build a CareerWhere the WorkMatters
We are always pleased to hear from drivers and passenger assistants who want steady, meaningful work on a route they get to know well.
We look for patience, reliability and genuine warmth with young people. The right licences and checks can be arranged, but the temperament cannot be taught.
In return you will find well-maintained vehicles, a settled run rather than a different job every day, and pay that arrives on time.
Drivers
Morning and afternoon school runs on a consistent route, with a full UK licence, an enhanced DBS check and the relevant private hire licensing in place.
Passenger Assistants
Travel alongside the driver supporting one or more young people, with training in safeguarding, first aid and safe restraint provided.
Experience with SEND
Previous work in schools, care, health or support roles is very welcome, though it is not essential if the attitude is right.
